Nino Wenger is a saxophonist and composer from Zurich, Switzerland, who has established himself as a versatile and creative musician. Known for his collaborations with renowned artists such as Chris Cheek, Rich Perry, Alan Ferber, Jorge Rossy, Guillermo Klein, and Dave Pietro, he regularly performs with the Swiss Jazz Orchestra and the Zurich Jazz Orchestra. As a member of several bands, including Kira Linn's Linntett and the Yuri Storione Quartet, as well as a bandleader, composer, and arranger for his own quartet, Nino showcases a remarkable range of creative expression.
From 2018 to 2019, Nino Wenger lived in New York to pursue an Artist Diploma at NYU. During this time, he expanded his network and participated in significant projects like Guillaume Muller's "Sketches of Sound." His playing can be heard on albums such as Kira Linn's Linntett's "Illusion" (2023 Whirlwind Recordings) and Francesco Losavio's "Turn."
Nino's dedication has earned him recognition, including victories in the Bruno Rother Jazz Competition and the NYU Promising Artist Series in 2019.
